Publish a public or private dashboard share link, and use public branding on paid plans to show your logo, header color, and publisher name.

On Free, public dashboard links carry a "Made with Better Analyst" badge. Paid plans (Pro, Team, and Enterprise) share without the badge, and an active paid workspace can assign one Brand Kit to a dashboard to replace the share-page branding with its own logo, header color, and publisher name.

## Make a Dashboard Public

1. Open **Dashboards** and select the dashboard.
2. Choose **Share** in the dashboard header.
3. Turn on **Public**.
4. Copy the share link.

Anyone with the link can view a public dashboard. Turn **Public** off when the link should no longer be accessible.

In a team, only the dashboard's creator or an owner or admin can make it public. In a [private project](https://betteranalyst.com/docs/teams/private-projects), only owners and admins can.

## Private Links

On Pro, Team, and Enterprise, the **Share** dialog also has a **Private link** section:

- **Invite by email**: only the people you add can open the link. They confirm with a code sent to their email, and they don't need a Better Analyst account.
- **Password**: anyone with the password can open the link.
- **Expires (optional)**: the link stops working after the date you pick.
- **Viewed by**: see who opened the link.

Turning on a private link turns off the public link. On Team, you can also limit links to your workspace or email domain, and give colleagues or clients viewer logins.

## Per-viewer Dashboards

A team dashboard built from a data source with [per-member rules](https://betteranalyst.com/docs/teams/per-member-data-access) shows each viewer only their own rows. The dashboard says so at the top, for example: "Each viewer sees only their own rows from Sales DB. These numbers are filtered for you." Owners and admins who see everything get a note that their numbers may be more than others see.

Because the numbers depend on who's looking, some sharing options are off for these dashboards:

| Option | Why it's off |
| - | - |
| Public link | A public link has no viewer to filter rows for. |
| Embed code | The embed code needs a public link. |
| Scheduled refresh | Each viewer's numbers are prepared when they open the dashboard, so there's no schedule. |
| Email | Each person sees only their own rows, so they open the dashboard instead. |

To share one with teammates, send them the dashboard from your team workspace. Each of them sees their own numbers. On the Team plan, owners and admins can check what someone sees with **Viewing as**. See [View as a member](https://betteranalyst.com/docs/teams/per-member-data-access#view-as-a-member).

A few building options are limited too. Per-viewer dashboards can only use database sources (such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or BigQuery), add data as live queries rather than saved results, and re-run at most 6 tables for each viewer. Tables that run Python and **Write with AI** notes aren't available on them.

If a chart needs a table or column hidden from the viewer, it shows a no-access card and the rest of the dashboard still loads. Dashboards built in the older format stop showing data from a per-member source until they're rebuilt.

When a data source first gets per-member rules, its dashboards' public links and schedules turn off. Turning the rules off later doesn't turn them back on.

## Prepare the Brand Kit

Open **Brand Kits**, then create or edit the kit you want to use.

In **Brand details**:

- Set the **Public display name** shown after “Shared by.”
- If you leave it blank, Better Analyst uses the Brand Kit name.

In **Public share header**:

- Upload one PNG, JPEG, or SVG logo up to 5 MB.
- Choose the header background color.
- Review the logo against that background. Header text changes automatically for readable contrast.

The dashboard title remains the dashboard's own name. To change it, open the dashboard and select its title or pencil icon.

## Assign the Brand Kit

1. Return to the dashboard.
2. Open **Share**.
3. Under **Public branding**, choose a Brand Kit from the same workspace as the dashboard.
4. Review the compact header preview.
5. Choose **Save**.

Personal dashboards can use the owner's personal Brand Kits. Team dashboards can use Brand Kits from that same team workspace.

## What Visitors See

The public dashboard header shows:

- The Brand Kit logo, when one is uploaded
- The dashboard title
- “Shared by” followed by the public display name
- The Brand Kit's public header background color

If the Brand Kit has no logo, the share page uses a clean text-only branded header. Active branded shares also remove the floating Better Analyst call to action and Better Analyst references from the page metadata.

The dashboard content does not change

Public branding changes only the hosted share-page header. It does not recolor or regenerate charts, tables, filters, or other dashboard content. Dashboard embeds keep their existing presentation.

## Live Updates and Fallbacks

The dashboard keeps a live reference to its assigned Brand Kit. Editing the kit's logo, public display name, or header background updates every eligible dashboard that uses it.

- Removing the Brand Kit assignment restores the standard Better Analyst share header.
- Deleting an assigned Brand Kit clears the assignment and restores the standard header.
- If the workspace is no longer on a paid plan with public branding, the assignment is preserved but the public page falls back to the standard Better Analyst header. Restoring eligibility reactivates it.
- If Better Analyst cannot verify eligibility, the public page fails closed to the standard header.

## Standalone Chart Shares

The same public branding is available on paid plans for standalone chart share links. Open the chart's **Share** dialog and choose a kit under **Public branding**. Chart embeds remain unchanged.

## Troubleshooting

### The Brand Kit Is Missing from the List

Confirm that the dashboard and Brand Kit belong to the same personal or team workspace.

### The Paid Workspace Still Shows a Locked State

Confirm that the workspace's Pro, Team, or Enterprise subscription is active. If it is, retry after refreshing the page; Better Analyst keeps branding disabled when entitlement status cannot be verified.

### The Logo Is Hard to Read

Choose a header background that contrasts with the uploaded logo, or upload a logo designed for the selected background.
