Frequently Asked Questions

Better Analyst supports Amazon Redshift provisioned clusters (RA3 and DC2 node types) and Redshift Serverless workgroups. The cluster or workgroup must be reachable over the network from Better Analyst.
You need the endpoint (host), port (5439 by default), database name, and a database user and password. We recommend a dedicated read-only user with SELECT access limited to the schemas you want to analyze.
Click "Connect Redshift," paste the Endpoint value from the Redshift console, and enter your username and password. Make sure the cluster or workgroup is publicly accessible or allows our IP addresses in its VPC security group.
You can query any table or view your Redshift user has read access to. Ask questions in plain English and Better Analyst writes Redshift SQL for you and shows you the query.
Yes. Credentials are encrypted at rest, connections require TLS, and every query runs inside a read-only transaction. Read only is the default; if you explicitly enable Read and write, Better Analyst can manage destination tables only in the approved schema.
Queries run on your cluster or workgroup like any other query. You can route Better Analyst to a dedicated WLM queue or a separate Serverless workgroup to isolate it from production workloads.
