Correlation Game Official Rules
Rules version: launch-60s-2026-08-24
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. Sponsor and contest period
The sponsor is Datasetmatch LLC, hello@formulabot.com (“Sponsor”). Prize entries open when the Sponsor activates the contest and remain open until the Sponsor closes them. The entry status is displayed on the contest page. Runs started while entries are open are eligible for review. The Sponsor’s server clock is official.
2. Eligibility
Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Canada (including Quebec) who are at least 18 and the age of majority where they live when entering. Employees, contractors, representatives, and household or immediate-family members of the Sponsor are not eligible. Void where prohibited.
3. How to enter
Provide and verify one email address, accept these Rules and the Privacy Policy, and begin a competition run at formulabot.com/correlation-game. Email addresses are never displayed publicly. Entrants may appear under a generated Player name, choose an unverified display name, or add an unverified public Instagram, X, TikTok, or LinkedIn profile. Duplicate names and handles are permitted. A generated Player name may be replaced once; a chosen display name or profile cannot be changed after it is saved. Public names and profiles are presentation metadata only and cannot be used to claim an entry or another person’s identity. The verified email address—not the public name, profile, or alias—determines entry ownership, attempt limits, private run history, and winner contact. Each entrant may begin no more than three runs per UTC day. Beginning a run consumes an attempt, even if the entrant leaves or loses connectivity.
4. Game and scoring
Each run lasts up to 60 seconds and contains no more than 100 scatterplots. For each plot, enter a positive Pearson correlation from 0.00 to 1.00. An answer scores one point when its absolute difference from the server-calculated sample correlation, with both values rounded to two decimals, is 0.10 or less. Unanswered plots score zero. Results are revealed after the run.
5. Leaderboard and ties
Only an entrant’s highest eligible server-screened run is ranked. Higher score wins. Ties are broken by higher accuracy, lower mean absolute error, then earlier submission. Public leaderboard labels do not reveal email addresses. Automated screening does not verify identity or human play; every displayed position is provisional.
6. Prize
One prize of $250 USD will be awarded. The winner is responsible for applicable taxes. The prize is non-transferable; the Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary. Payment is expected within 30 days after verification and receipt of required information.
7. Integrity review and monitored replay
All potential winning entries will undergo an integrity review. The Sponsor may analyze answer patterns, server timing, answer cadence, request integrity, identity usage, and other signals of automated or assisted play. Any entry the Sponsor determines involved bots, scripts, automated calculation, AI assistance, tampering, multiple identities, account sharing, or attempts to evade limits will be disqualified.
The top-ranked entrant is only a provisional winner. To qualify, that entrant must respond within seven days, prove control of the verified email address used to enter, and repeat the same 60-second, 100-plot-cap format live on a video call monitored by the Sponsor, without outside assistance, scoring at least 90% of the original winning score, rounded up to the next whole point. One additional monitored attempt may be offered only for a documented technical problem. Failure to respond, complete verification, or satisfy the replay threshold permits the Sponsor to select the next eligible entrant.
8. Canadian requirement
Before being confirmed as a winner, a Canadian resident must correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
9. General conditions
The Sponsor may suspend, modify, or cancel the contest if fraud, technical failure, or circumstances beyond its reasonable control impair integrity, subject to applicable law. Decisions are final where permitted. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, interrupted, or corrupted transmissions.
10. Privacy, marketing choice, and contact
Entry information is handled under the Formula Bot Privacy Policy. Email is used for verification, limit enforcement, integrity review, and winner contact—not added to marketing lists merely by entering. Entrants may separately choose an unchecked, optional Formula Bot marketing checkbox. Declining does not affect entry or prize eligibility and does not withdraw permission granted elsewhere. If selected, Formula Bot records the consent version and timestamp and sends only an affirmative subscription update to its email provider; marketing messages identify the sender and include an unsubscribe method. The consent audit record may be retained after contest identity data is redacted to demonstrate permission and honor compliance obligations. Non-winner private contest data is scheduled for redaction 90 days after resolution, subject to fraud prevention and legal obligations.
