Google Sheets Sales Dashboard: Revenue, Reps and Targets
Summary
A Google Sheets sales dashboard turns a running log of deals or orders into revenue versus target, performance by rep and region, average deal size and trend lines. With the sheet connected to Better Analyst, you describe the dashboard you want and get a shareable web dashboard that refreshes from the sheet.

Who this report is for
Sales managers and founders whose sales data lives in a shared Google Sheet updated by reps, and who want a dashboard without building pivot tables and charts by hand.
What the report includes
| Metric | Source field | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | Deals tab: Amount column (your header) | Closed revenue for the period, the headline number. |
| Target | Targets tab: Rep, Month, Target columns (your headers) | Lets the dashboard show attainment, not just totals. |
| Deals won | Deals tab: Stage column = 'Closed Won' | Volume of wins, used for average deal size. |
| Average deal size | Calculated: Revenue ÷ Deals won | Shows whether growth comes from more deals or bigger ones. |
| Rep and region | Deals tab: Rep and Region columns | Breakdowns managers act on in pipeline reviews. |
| Close date | Deals tab: Close date column | Places each deal in a month or quarter for trends. |
How to build it in Better Analyst from Google Sheets
- Share the Google Sheet with sheets@betteranalyst.com. Viewer access is enough; the connector never edits your sheet.
- In Better Analyst, open Connectors, choose Google Sheets, paste the sheet URL and click Connect. Better Analyst checks the sharing, reads the tabs and syncs the data.
- Keep one table per tab with headers in the first row, and use real dates in the close-date column.
- Describe the dashboard: monthly revenue versus target, attainment by rep, revenue by region and a table of the largest open deals.
- Adjust it by chatting or dragging cards, then share it with the team; refresh the connector when reps add rows, or schedule automatic syncs on a paid plan.
Questions to ask
- “Build a sales dashboard from this sheet: monthly revenue versus target, attainment by rep and revenue by region.”
- “Which reps are below 80% of their quarterly target?”
- “What's our average deal size by region this quarter versus last?”
- “Show the top 10 deals closed this month.”

Charts to use
- Revenue vs target by month (Column chart with target line): Monthly closed revenue against the target, so misses are obvious.
- Attainment by rep (Bar chart with data bars): Each rep's percentage of target, sorted, with a 100% reference line.
- Revenue by region (Donut or bar chart): How revenue splits across regions this quarter.
Keep it up to date
Schedule a weekly summary to the sales Slack channel every Monday morning. Add an alert when weekly closed revenue falls below a threshold, so managers hear about a slow week before the month ends.
