Web Dashboards Overview

Create, manage, refresh, rename, and share interactive Better Analyst web dashboards.

Web dashboards turn an analysis into an interactive page with charts, tables, filters, and a shareable link. Use them when people need to explore the result in a browser instead of receiving a static image or file.

Create a Web Dashboard

  1. Start a chat and attach the files or connected sources you want to analyze.
  2. Ask Better Analyst to build a web dashboard.
  3. Describe the audience, decisions, metrics, filters, and comparisons the dashboard should support.
  4. Review the generated dashboard and request any changes in chat.

For example:

Build an executive web dashboard for weekly revenue, margin, and target attainment. Include date and region filters, a monthly trend, and the five largest variances.

Manage a Dashboard

Open Dashboards from the sidebar, then select a dashboard. Depending on its data sources and runtime, the header can include controls to:

  • Refresh connected data
  • Schedule eligible refreshes
  • Swap a source file or connector
  • Review or download the dashboard's datasets
  • Restore an earlier dashboard version
  • Rename the dashboard by selecting its title or pencil icon
  • Make the dashboard public and copy its share link

Some controls are available only when the dashboard has a compatible saved data recipe or source. Better Analyst leaves the last successful dashboard available when a refresh cannot run.

A dashboard is private until you enable Public in its Share panel. A public link opens a hosted share page that anyone with the link can view.

The embed code uses the dashboard content in an iframe. Public-page branding and embed customization are separate features: assigning a Brand Kit to a public dashboard changes the hosted share-page header, not the embedded dashboard or its charts.

Dashboard Styling

A Brand Kit selected while building a dashboard can guide its colors, typography, and number formatting. The dashboard saves the styling used when it is generated.

Public-share branding is configured separately. Business workspaces can assign a saved Brand Kit to replace Better Analyst branding in the header of a public dashboard link.
